CP343-1 Comm via Ethernet to TP177B DP/PN, The display won't communicate

EirikV Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a S7 CPU-315-PN/DP that I am trying to get to communicate with a TP177B DP/PN touch panel via a CP343-1 ethernet module. I have assigned IP adresses 10.1.8.40 to the PLC and 10.1.8.41 to the touch panel. I have set those IPs in both WinCC flexible and in NetPro. There is no communication, though, between the panel and the PLC. When i run the special diagnostics for the Ethernet module, under 'Operating Mode' it reads: S7 communication Run OK Send/Recv Stop not configured System connection Stop The task has not started One thing, though. I have SIMATIC Manager version 5.4 + SP1, and in my HW config I can't find my exact Ethernet model 6GK7343-1EX21-0XE0 version 1.2, I can only find v1.1. Is this a problem? Hi Erik,

No I think the problem not this, because:

As of March 2007, the CP 343-1 (order no. 6GK7343-1EX21-0XE0) will be shipped with firmware version V1.2. Existing CP 343-1 modules (6GK7343-1EX21-0XE0)with earlier firmware versions can be upgraded with a free firmware update. The new version of the firmware can be used on all existing hardware releases.

Summary

1. Product description

Firmware version V1.2 succeeds version V 1.1 and includes product improvements. With the update, the CP 343-1 (order no. 6GK7343-1EX21-0XE0) is functionally compatible with the predecessor version. It can therefore be configured with the same STEP 7 / NCM version. If only the compatible functions are used, it is not necessary to upgrade STEP7 or NCM. In the case of a spare part replacement and if the data are stored on the CPU the CP can be replaced without PG, simply by swapping the module! In addition, it is not necessary to use the latest version of STEP 7.

Can you ping your cp343 ?
if not maybe the configuration isnt there. becouse when you download the hw config to the cpu, the step7 give a popup window, and this window you can select the cpu, and the cp card. If you select the cp the step7 download the datas to the ethernet card.
