CPU315-2DP to OPC Client/Server

dellok Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello, I wish to read from and write to an OPC Client/Server from a CPU315-2DP. Is this possible? What communications modules will I need? Any advice is reatly appreciated

Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hi, it depends if you want to use PROFIBUS or Industrial Ethernet. If you use PROFIBUS you can use the Interface on the CPU, than you need a PC CP, e.g. a CP 5611, with SOFTNET S7 for PROFIBUS.... If you want to use Industrial Ethernet you can use any NDIS Network Adaptor with SIMATIC NET SOFTNET S7 Lean and on PCL side you need additionally a CP like the CP 343-1 Lean... If you wantthe PLC to read/writefrom/to an OPC Server [:o] then you have to make the OPC to be an S7"Server" and make CPU the active station. The OPC have a DB1 where PLC/OPC Clients can exchange data. Dec
