I am trying to make a simple vb.net app to automatic download the datalog files from a S7-1215c cpu to a PC.

first of all.. which version of firmware are you using?

In firmware versions < 4.2 datalogs can be addressed as

http://192.168.1.1/DataLogs/myDatalog.csv, 

replace ip with yours and myDatalog.csv with your datalog name.

In first attemp, I would remove also authentication and make all simplest as possible.

Downloading the files works with above solution, but how to do this with a firmware version >= 4.2?

This  C# download path should work with firmware 4.2.0

string url = "http://" + IpPLC + "/FileBrowser/Download?Path=/DataLogs/" + filename

an http file will return if the download try fails.

please provide html file  if your download fails.

Since firmware 4.2 it is a little bit tricky to download the datalog. I think the best way is using the program wget. The new since 4.2 is, that the download is only possible after login.
In addition, a cookie must be written.

So write a batchfile.
The first line is realized the login, write the cookie and download an html-site.
The "Anmelden" should be "Login" (Sorry, is an german plc).
Without "-O %temp%\Portal.html" wget will write e new file for every login!

The second line use the cookie for logincheck and downloads the datalogfile.
I like to write all temporary files in the temp-directory (%temp%)

All PC-Pathes and filenames (cookie, html, datalogfile) are of course arbitrary.

The regular wget-path after the installation is "C:\Program Files (x86)\GnuWin32\bin\wget.exe".

The plc will every login register in the diagnosebuffer. So, after 25 downloads is nothing meaningful in the diag. This is stupid!

This is strange, as I actually do, with no credentials requirement, simple webclient download request as I posted before is working in 4.2.0 fw release.+

The things changes when authentication is required. As of now I didn't find a success way to access datalog this case, even using http get get method by credentials registration.
