FM352-4 cam module

regghy Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Good morning to everyone I've a little problem: ina my new jobI choosen a S7-300 PLC with a cam module board FM352-4 (352-1AH02-0AE0, firmware version 1.0.2). The machine need more cam's control to work in right mode. In this case I've to use all 32 tracks with 32 cams (1 cam for everyout track), but reading manual or others faqs there isn't explained how a customer have to configure this board and write a correct software to able and manage all 32 tracks. In every example we find only how to manage 2 cams in 2 tracks. The borad work correctly but I'm not able writing correct source code in PLC to make my work. Did someone use the last Cam module and can help me to complete this job? I'd like receiving right advices or FC really working Thanks to everyone Marco

Here you will find it: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/28309520 Setup this software. 1) create a project with your FM In that project insert the FC0, FB1, FB2 that you find in the library installed with the setup. Also copy the correct UDT that will contain the parameter assignments. You have 32 tracks max per module, and the module provides up to max.128 cams, which can be assigned to any track. If you use 128 Cams, you will have to use also the CAM_P128TYPE (UDT6), and create a DB with UDT6. 2) In the HWconfig, once you have placed an FM352 in the rack, by double-click on the module, the configurator opens.In the menu "file" of the configurator, you can choose "import", and open the DB you have created. By clicking on the cams symbol, you open the cam configuration. You make now all settings required (activating, assigning to a track, ...), and you export back to the DB.. 3) After the setup of the software, an example is also installed in the S7 Manager. If you go to the menue File ==> open, select now the tab "sample projects", and select zEn19_02_FMx52___Prog You will find 5 folders with sample programs. regghy Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks for advice This is the normal procedure to start-up the board andit'srun correctly using the example con step 7 library. But it's not clear how change and setting for example track numer 18 because when the PLC generate the DB1 using FB1 instal an array of 16 elements and NOT for the correct number of cams that i desire. The board in PLC work correctly and i can read degree position and speed and change first 16 tracks because they are expalined in every example and in the manual. But is not showing how manage more than 16 tracks. I tried any time after reading manual but my best result is change the same tracks Best regards to all Marco

I believe that each call to FB1 can handle max 16 cam changes at once. You can specify in each instance DB in dbw35 ad dbw37 with bits which cames you want to handle. You have bits for the cams0 to 127 I am not sure, but may beyou would try to call FB1 several times with another instance DB. And specify different cam bits for each call.

regghy Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Dear Late I hope you can help me because Siemens support in Italy is not able to explain in right way the solution. I have to use the FM module like a normal cam switch electric equimpent, using 32 cams in 32 tracks, read encoder position and encoder speed, keep cams (changed before, for example the day before)at every OB100 cycle, without use RAM upload setting because mechanical maintenance people can change at everytime the cams using a normal simens operator panel. I hope that anybody in Europe used this FM module (version 2) for 32 cams and not for the easy 16 cams. Now for my machine commissioning the time is hurry and I'd like having a REAL running program in a CPU Best Regards a desperate project manager Marco
