Hi, They asked me to look at a project that has 20 Sinamics Servo Drives. Eatch drive will handle the positon of a platform ..... I use TIA-V19 with a basic license, but i activated the professional license with a trial period. I selected a CPU 1511T-1 PN 6ES7 511-1TL03-0AB0 450 KB code and 1.5 MB data Sinamics S210 Drive, SINAMICS S210 PN, 6SL5310-1BB10-4CF0 I added 6 sinamics drives to the projects, and in TIA program tree under program-info i see that i used 54% of motion control resources. Am i right to think that one PLC will not be able to handle all 20 Servo drives? If we add more PLC's to the configuration, will the PLC's be able to communicate between eachother. Buttons, alarm inputs, safety inputs will most likely be wired towards 1 PLC. Can the other PLC read out this inputs? There is, at this point, one thing that appears to be strange to me. Eatch of the 6 created sinamics drives are pointing to the same organization block MC_Servo (OB91) and an MC_Interpolar (OB92). This is done by TIA when a drive is created. I can hit the crate button at that point, he will create a Isochronous mode interrupt OBs. I am not shure what this means at this point. Attached is a file with screen shots of my configuration so far. So my question at this point is, do we need more than one PLC to handle the 20 Sinamics servo drives? Thank you in advance Fabrizio AttachmentS71500 20 Sinamics S210 servo drives.pdf (70 Downloads) |

Resources usage can be lowered by extending cycle of OB_Servo. If this is not applicable then I'd rather go for more powerful CPU. Resources usage can be estimated using its technical spec or TIA Selection Tool. |
