OP77B Automatic Chageover with S7-300Redundant sysetm

john Enthu Posts: 69 Rating: (0)	Dear Sir,I have S7-300 Software redundant system comprising of CPU-315-2DP. I want to connect OP77B over MPI which should change its connections automatically at the time of CPU changeover. Whether is it possible? If yes, what are the settings I need to set in Wincc flexible program of OP77B? Please, note that OP77B is enclosed with Flame proof panel. So, we are not allowed to access OP77B keys. Regards.......

Compare the information in the post to the one in this FAQ (it is designed for S7-400H systems, but it also can apply to S7-300 Software redundancy, in this case). H-H Platinum Member Joined: 7/2/2008 Last visit: 9/30/2024 Posts: 928 Rating: (309)	Hello john, Mr. Daniel Chartier is right, You can use solution 5 and if you could just go through the entry that's existing under solution no. 5, you will find a detailed description of what to do in WinCC flexible. The FB 253 will tell you which is master and which is reserve in H-system. In software redundancy you will not use FB253 and you can directly use the status word (word no. 8 in instance data block of FB101) to investigate who is master and who is reserve. Use MB200 (for example)to say CPU A is master and use MB201 (for example)to say CPU B is master. Then it's typically the same steps in WinCC flexible. As far asI remember,this method requires communication with both CPUs andyou may suffer in case of communication failurestop ofmasterCPU. So, if the master CPU fails (STOP), there will be automatic switching in PLC side but at HMI, there will be no switching. To make automatic switch over in PLC side and HMI side due to communication failure or Stop of master, this requires more programming in both sides but the FAQ still gives you guidelines of what to do. Shane Matthew - E... Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Dear Enthu, Have you checked PLC status word for redundancy? OP77B doesn't have script editor. So it has to depend on PLC for all kind of data. You can go for the higher version of HMI, where script editor is there. Configure redundancy in HMI script.

chintu Posts: 29 Rating: (1)	HI John, How r u? It is possible to operate OP77B from PLC inputs. You mentioned that you have flame proof panel & OP77B inside the panel. I have commissioned same system for one of my project. I consider six push button digital input to PLC to operate OP77B. You can vary inputs according to requirements. In PLC program, you have to takeone timer & two word. When your CPU changeover happen, that time you have to run timer 7sec & move the suppose value 77 in word1 & 0 value in word2. In Wincc flexible, you have to define two word tag. Note that one word has PLC connection withCPU1 & 2nd word connection with CPU2. Now you haveassingthis tags to IO field1 & IO field2 respectively. you have to assign connection changeover function on this tags when value of tag exceeds 70. During chagneover time value of word be 77 & u can establlish connection between OP77B & CPU. Also you can you job function 51 to change screen of OP77B. I hope you can solve your problem.
