I´m not sure, but perhaps you could use the Simatic Net – OLM Modules fort his application.

I know that these OLM (Optical Link Modules) work with MPI for S7-300, perhaps they also run with S7-200 PPI Interface.

I think the communicatino is similar to the example in this FAQ (Perhaps this could also be an alternative for you?)

This is a completly different way of communication, but also working with PC, S7-200 PPI Port, 2 Modem but viawire copper line.

In my opinion you can also use an OLM e.g 6GK1502-2CB10, but as i already said, I´m not sure because I don´t know if The OLM are able to transfer the PPI Protocol.

Perhaps somebody else can help in this case?

If I right understood, you would like to use a fiber optical with free port.

When you work with free port, you can adjust the serial communication parameters freely. Unhappily the same not occurred with the OLM. So I suggest you to be careful…
