SFC CPU?

I currently have S7-300 cpu part no: 313-6CF03-0AB0 i tried to create an SFC in the above and get the following error "The System blocks SFB35 used in the program does not exist in the operating system of the CPU. Does any one have any ideas on the above? Regards Craig

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	I guess you are talking about CFC (Continuous Function chart). Or are you talking about S7-Graph for Sequential Control Systems? SFC is "System function" in S7 world. The problem is not related to CPU being able to use CFC or any programing language. When you compile and download it is allin m/c code in PLC. The problem is you have SFB35 in your program which is not supported bythe CPU. Try removing SFB from your program folderand where ever it is called.

I think (and I 'm not shure!) the SFC-editor can only be used with a S7-400 CPU (and maybe a CPU 18). I looked in the S7-300 Instruction List(Page 132 /133). There is no SFB 35 listed for the S7-300 CPUs. Looks to my like you try to transfer a PLC-program from S7-400 to S7-300.

But in Siemens world it is called S7-Graph (Which also I mentioned) see my quote. JMJ Or are you talking about S7-Graph for Sequential Control Systems?.................. SFC is "System function" in S7 world. Now coming to usage of it S7-300. Step7 does not restrict users from using it on any CPUs but for S7 300 it recommended from CPU 314 and CPU 312C onwards as per A&D mall. An the original cause for fault is using SFB which is not part of the CPU firmwire.

I think S7 Graph was desined for S7 and SFC for PCS7 Have a look on Chapter 1.1 in this manual: SFC for S7 6.1 (in my eyes the name should be "SFC for PCS7 V6.1") for more information on SFC

SFBs are part of the operating system and are not loaded as part of the program. Like FBs, SFBs are blocks "with memory." You must also create instance data blocks for SFBs and download them to the CPU as part of the program. For more detailed information about SFBs and SFCs, refer to the "System Software for S7-300 and S7-400, System and Standard Functions" Reference Manual. The "S7-300 Programmable Controller, Hardware and Installation Manual" and "S7-400, M7-400 Programmable Controllers Module Specifications Reference Manual" explain which SFBs and SFCs are available.' According to the table available in step 7 online help SFB35 is only available in S7-400. I hope this clears matters for you

I have no experience in PCS7 and since it is posted under S7-300, I guess it is not about PCS7. Moreover, in my very limited knowledge about PCS7, it uses S7-400 as Automation System and since CPU here mentioned is S7-300, it should be a standard S7 system.

You are getting that error may be because of older firmware of CPU . You may need to update the firmware of the CPU. "The System blocks SFB35 used in the program does not exist in the operating system of the CPU. To find out the resolution for above error , you can check in module Information, whether this CPU support SFB 35 or not ,you can go online with CPU & check into module information(Ctrl + D)\ Performance data \ system blocks. It particularly gives list of system blocks which that CPU Supports. I guess it supports SFB35.
