I´m trying to connect a CPU313C to an ET200U with the CP342-5.The trouble is that the CP and the ET200U says "BUS FAULT". I check the cable and it´s ok. I have an OP17 connected to the same subred PROFIBUS and this one works perfectly. I try to change the speed and doesn´t work any way. When I make a diagnose with the NCM S7 it says that the address exist but it´s "PASIVE". The CP is in address 1, the OP17 is in address 4 and the ET200U is in address 3. NMC S7 says: The DP STATUS is RUN. PROFIBUS Address 1. Cause of DP Status: "Modo de sondeo normal (al menos un slot no disponible). Please HEEEELP me! Thank U!!!!!!

I like this diagnostic tool I havn't connacted an ET200U to the CP342-5 till today. But maybe I'll have some ideas. I found the following FAQ: Coupling ET200U DP (6ES5 318 8MB12) to an S7 master So maybe this is your problem? Using the NCM-Diagnistic, there is the DP-Master Diagnostic. Here you will find the diagnostic data from the DP-Slaves. Which information is given here? Maybe you can post a screenshot? The information, that the Station is passive is correct. In most cases DP-Slaves are passive stations. Communication is controlled by the DP-Master. Hope that you can solve your problem soon Best regards Sabine

The ET200U have two options of configuration: DP Siemens and DP Norm. I put in my program the FC1 and FC2 of Profibus and when I select (DipSwitch8) DP Siemens the CP is still "saying BUS FAULT. Then I put in the DP Norm and . . . MAGIC!!!! TheRed Lights goes away. BUT, now I have another trouble. I put in the ET200 two modules, one have 8 Digital Inputs and the other 8 Digital Outputs. The address of this two modules is 8DI: Byte 0 and 8DA: Byte 0. When the E0.0 is On the E0.0 is On too. The same thing happens with the other inputs and outputs and when I see the status in the PG the E0.0 is Off. And other thing, in the program doesn´t exist any line that says to the outputs goes On. Tomorrow I will keep on trying. Bye! MecoMatic

But, I can´t access to any input or output in the ET200. And something more strange to me. I put in the ET200 two modules. One of 8 Digital Inputs and other with 8 Digital Output. The address is Byte 0 to Inputs and Outputs. When I access to the E0.0 automatically the A0.0 is On too. And the same is happening with the other ins and outs. Well, but in the program code I don´t say to do that. What´s going on? Obviously I have some trouble in the address but I don´t understand it. Please HELP ME!!!!! Best Regard MecoMatic

Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hi, have you read the Manual for PROFIBUS with STEP 7? I am not sure, but do you use the DP_SEND and DP_RECV Functions? If not, please do so, you can not access the IO directly over the Process Image. Stay calm.

I´m using the FC1 DP_SEND and FC2 DP_RECV functions. If you don´t put them in the program the conection doesn´t work and they say Bus Fault. That wasmy first trouble. That and the Dipswitch 8 in DP Norm and NOT in DP Siemens. Thank you for your support. Best Regard. MecoMatic

Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hello, I am sorry, but as you said that you access the I and Q areas of the PLC I guessed you do not use the two FCs. I wonder, where do you put the data to that you receive from the CP 342-5 than? I hope into a DB, because this is the easiest way. Stay calm.
