Dear All, [snip] 2. Where can I find information (such as DP connection method, configuration tools, and RPM card needed, etc.) about TI 555-1106 set up as hot backup system? I can only find information about 560T/565T. 3. If I need to change a TI 555-1106 hot backup system from RBC-485(505-6851) to RBC-DP(505-6870), what should I do? Thank you for your help in advance KK ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello kk.cheung; The original TI505 (later Siemens 505) did not offer hot redundancy for the 545/555 CPUs. There were options for warm redundant remote rack controllers. Since Siemens dropped production if the Siemens 505 series, CTI has taken over the "old" 505 PLCs and added their own 2500 series CPUs, compatible (to a point) with the original 505 system and hardware. Here is their redundancy offerings: http://www.controltechnology.com/products/2500-Series-Classic/System-Redundancy-Options If you need to further your examination of any of their products you should contact them directly, especially to determine if what they offer can be used with your existing system. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi KK, further to your question: If I need to change a TI 555-1106 hot backup system from RBC-485(505-6851) to RBC-DP(505-6870), what should I do? The CTI solutions mentioned by Dchartier can be combined with a device commercialized by company Kunbus: https://www.kunbus.com/profibus-redundancy-switch.html i did some testing with this device and it can be combined with 505-1106 CPU and Profibus RBC. For further technical details contact me via Personnal Message. it would take too long technical discussion to explain all the details here. Regards, Carlo |
