MAG 5000/ 6000: how to set/ trimflow m3/h?

Mr hafis Member Joined: 4/26/2022 Last visit: 4/27/2022 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hallo I’m hafis i want to ask for help… about siemens flow meter mag 5000/6000… how to set/trimflow m3/h..for example..my pump is 1200m3/h… i want to set it to 1000 or 900m3/h… how to make it…and how to set…where to use on mag 5000/6000fm. one more question… when I turn off the pump reading is not zero… even 30.7m3/h… how do I want to make it be zero…thank you very much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from MAG 6000.

danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 11/8/2024 Posts: 1074 Rating: (214)	Flow rate A pump that pumps 1200m3/h pumps 1200m3/h. A magnetic flow meter only measures the flow; a mag meter does not regulate/control the flow. It is not a valve or a VFD. If you want to change the 20mA value (Q max) of the 4-20mA output range, the navigate in the menu to Basic Settings > Mains Frequency > Flow Direction > Q Max and enter the new maximum flow rate (Q max) value in engineering units of m3/h Flow is not zero 1) remote mount cabling These symptoms sound like when the transmitter is mounted remotely from the magnetic flowmeter tube in the pipe and the raw flow signal from the tube to the converter/transmitter is noisy. If the transmitter/converter is mounted remotely, and the installation did not use the manufacturer's low-noise, shielded cable then that is the first thing to fix. To my knowledge, all magmeters can use 'alternative' low noise shielded twisted pair cable, but the cable has to meet the published spec by the flowmeter manufacturer. I can't tell you how many times I've seen remote mounted mag meters wired with THHN, or equivalent, with noise and shifting zero problems. 2) Siemens troubleshooting guide mentions insufficient shielding on the coil conductor between the flow tube and the transmitter. 2) Missing grounding/earthing rings 3) The body of the sensor must have the same electrical potential as the liquid being measured. Some magmeters need ground/earth rings between the mag tube and the pipe. You need to refer to the magmeter tube's installation guide for manufacturer's advice on whether ground/earth rings are needed AND how to wire them correctly. 4) What you are seeing is signal, not noise Sometimes what you might think is flow 'noise' is real. Expecting zero flow when a pump turns off might seem reasonable, but depending on what the piping is, there can be all sorts of flow, forward or reverse, once the pump turns off. 5) Magnetic slurry A magnetic slurry will be noisy because of the magnetism of the slurry particles. 6) Electrical current in the fluid not generated by the magmeter Electrical currents through fluid will affect the magmeter's readings. Systems with cathodic protection corrosion protection can be subject to noise induced from the corrosion protection system.
