Measuring RPM - S7-200 series

Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	Is there a Interupt or special function, in the S7-200 series PLC, which I can use to measure RPM. The problem I have is to get more acurate result, I have to count pulses for atleast 30seconds (my application being 30RPM process), then multiply into 2, and finally post the result to the HMI. This process keeps going on an on, every 30seconds. basically I want to cut the time for posting updated DATA. (which occurs everytime the machine starts from stop position) is it possible?

But there are several counters, which can even count at high speed (e.g. 20000 pulses / second). You may copy the count value, change it (e.g. multiplicate HC0 with 2.0) and put it on a panel. You may use this endless by resiiting the counting value after reading it, or start/stop counting on certain conditions. Hope this helps.
