wilbur2 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Gentlemen, We have a Simodrive 611 on a machine tool with a PC based operating system. We have recently installed 2 new motors, both are #1FK7083-5AF71-1AG3 for the X&Y axis controlled by atwo axis amp. #6SN1123-1AB00-0BA1. Is it necessary to perform a set up proceedure on the new motors. They are same as original equipment. We are trying to locate a set up proceedure for the motors but cannot. Can you help? Thanks in advance. The ER module is 6SN1145-1BA01-0BA1. Spn. Drive board is 6SN1121-0BA11-0AA1.

Ofcourse yes...you need to perform the setup....What is the control card usedin the XY (6SN1123-1AB00-0BA1) it is 611u (6SN1118-0NH01-0AA0) ....if it is 611u you need to have SIMOCOM U Software were you need to configure the motor..... what was the pervious equipment present? could provide further information on this.... wilbur2 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello Ekalavya, Thank you very much for the help. The detail on the system is as follows; Operating system is Win. 98 with a Sharnoa Tiger 6 application. The control board on the amp. does not have a Siemens number because the board has been modified by Sharnoa to suit the application. I believe the modified area is the encoder feedback to the PC. Motors are Siemens std.1FK7... amp. is Siemens std.6SN1123...control board on the amp. is not Siemens std. Would the std. set up proceedurefor the motors on this system suffice. Where would I find this proceedure. Regards, Wilbur2

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello.... Is this a new machine or running machine? May be they have some special software for reconganize this motor 1FK7on there PC based system. You need to check it out from machine manufacturer who has suppled the machine to you..... Regards, Ekalavya

The problem is finding the set up proceedure. I have searched the Siemens website and archives and cannot finda proceedure on drive set up. Do youknow where I might find it? Wilbur2

I to have searched themanufacturersite too...i don't find any informations on this....You told me that this is PC based control and Feed back cables comes PC. Are you finding any control card from the manufacturer which is sitting on the 6SN1123-? normally this type of motors 1FK7are configured with 611U cardand software used SIMOCOM U.... In your case you don't have control card you need to ask your manufacturer that the how this works with his PC based contol? Regards, Ekalavya

wilbur2 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Dear Ekalavya, This machine tool manufacturer recently closed operations in North America and all new parts and drive component testingisnow done inIsreal. We have sent the amp. & control board to Siemens rep for testing. The results are that the amp. is operational with a std. Siemens control board but theywere unable to check the control board sent with the amp. because it is not a Siemens board. It does not have a Siemens part number even though the amp. does. When I contacted Siemens, they confirmed that itis not a std. Siemens part, even though it looks like Siemens. If I could obtain a set up proceedure for a 611 ( Isuspect it's analog but not sure) then I could set up the drives to match the motors and get the machine running properly. Right now, the machine runs with the new motors but faults out under load with an OC led. Mechanics have been checked out and I think it's needs the drive set up to the new motors. Motorsreceived from Germany in July. Regards, Wilbur2

Could you send the photograph of this card and the motor and your PC based control how connection is given... if the card is with analog the motor will be with 1FT5 series... i am attaching you the analog motor configuration steps.... check it out it may helpful to you....
