i did not try this, but the question is the other way around. PROFINET/PROFIsafe is the standard. So the question is: Is the switch compatible with PROFISafe?

Yes, it is true what Towome said. The PROFINET/PROFIsafe protocol does not require a "special" switch, this will als work with a standard switch. But there are special PROFINET certified switches on the marked with some functions like prioritizing PROFINET protocol. So using a certified switch can still have advantages.

But only cisco knows how they did build the switch or what they did implement (or not). So maybe the Cisco switch does not work like a standard switch. Maybe cisco blocks some functions which are necessary for PROFINET/PROFIsafe.

So the answer that PROFINET/PROFIsafe does also work with a standard switch does help and does not gurantee the full functionality.

The point is still the same: PROFINET is standardized. Devices must support the standard, not the other way around. Also the ET200SP or any other device from any other manufacturer has to follow the standard, if it should be used in this environment.

The ulterior motive was probably to open up a bigger market, which is why Cisco sells more than just one single type of switch. So your question cannot be answered with a simple yes or no.

You have been told that it is recommended, but not required, to use a certified PROFINET switch.

However, I have been told several times that PROFINET does not work with a managed PROFINET switch. I can't remember the type, but I can tell you that it was because of built-in security features designed for office use, which is not the same as PROFINET. In this case, the port was blocked because the partner responded with two different MAC addresses, which is mandatory for PROFINET and LLDP.
