Overflow error on 4-20mA input to 16x13 Analog Input module (6ES7431-0HH00-0AB0)

umd_ee Member Joined: 1/12/2021 Last visit: 9/19/2023 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello, I am trying to configure temperature sensors in three separate battery cabinets to be read into my S7-400 416-3 PN/DP CPU (6ES7416-3ES07-0AB0). I am using an Omega TXDIN70 as my 4-20mA transmitter in each cabinet with a PT100 RTD. The display on each transmitter shows the expected temperatures, and I have them set to transmit -40C at 4mA and 204C at 20mA. I have channel 0 measuring +-1V correctly, channel 2 (battery cabinet 2) reading a 4-20mA signal correctly, but can't get channel 3 (batt cab 3), and channel 8 (batt cab 1) to read their 4-20mA inputs properly. Channel 3 reads 23767 (16#7FFF, overflow) and channel 8 reads 848 (too low). All of the AI signals are being scaled the same way. I have the square range selector modules set to A for channels 0 and 1, D for every other channel, and all channels except for 0, 2, 3 and 8 are disabled within TIA portal. I have a 24VDC power supply connected to the AI module with the positive going to PIN 3 and the negative going to PIN 47. I tried connecting all of the negatives from the transmitters together with the negative from the 24V power supply, and connecting those to pin 48, but that didn't fix my issue. Can anyone please advise?

Do you have the all the same devices(transducers) on your current channels? There are two possible current transducer that can be used with this module: Measuring methods and measuring ranges of SM 431; AI 16 x 13 Bit 2 wire sensors get thier supply through the measuring wires. 4 wire sensors get thier supply elsewhere. I guess your sensors that doesn´t work have thier own supply and therefore they are 4 wrie sensors. If this is so, you need to switch the Measuring range module settings to C for this channel. hope this helps, regards,
