Micromaster 440 problem

Keromieage Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hello I got micromaster 440 It's working fine but in random times i got problem It got 2 l.e.d lamps not a screen The green lamp flashes I found that is overvoltage problem The 3 ,phase is ok And the motor is ok The brake is installed and it's ok Could any one help me

Graeme Platinum Expert Joined: 6/4/2008 Last visit: 8/5/2025 Posts: 1518 Rating: (327)	Hi, what do you mean by "brake", motor brake, or Dynamic brake with a resistor mounted somewhere in/or on your panel? Is this a new fault, or has it been intermittent from new? If the drive occasionally overvoltages, then it's possible that the motor is regenerating i.e. during deceleration and the drive cannot dissipate the excess power. To protect the hardware, the drive trips. With only an SDP, you will struggle to resolve this issue, you need at the very least, a BOP, or better the free software: Starter and a PC connection kit to diagnose the drive. Regards, Graeme

Tractor Gold Expert Joined: 3/27/2008 Last visit: 9/14/2025 Posts: 1216 Rating: (148)	An over Voltage fault, is cause by a high DC Link Voltage, which can be created by: High supply Voltage or Regeneration from a high inertia load As you have a mechanical brake in the system, I would first consider the operation of the brake for: 1/ Serviceability, brake wear or adjustment. 2/ The brake operating system, is this the Micro Master or the a PLC. The Micromaster is the most reliable component for operating the brake. 3/ Also consider the ramp down time, has this been reduced? 4/ Has the mass of the system been increased? Note. If you do not have a keypad available, diagnosis for this problem will be difficult. Do you have a PC available with the STARTER software diagnosis tool installed?

No i don't have a keypad Its not mechanical brake This just start to happens this week Even if the motor is not running The motor is working fine and it's got this error in random times Did u watched my video?

It may appear that the supply is ok, using a meter, do you have a means of looking at the supply waveform? Sorry about this, but it needs some test equipment to diagnose what is causing this fault.

Yes it's just happened like 3-4 times in the day While the mm420 on the same system and it's working fine without any error I think it may be damaged or something like that Is there somewhere i can got. A new mm440 at egypt ?

You will also need someone with the STARTER software installed on a PC, to transfer the configuration to a new MM440. If you cannot find a suitable MM440, the replacement will be a Sinamics drive (G120 Type), and as the parameters will not transfere from the MM440 to the Sinamics drive the system will need to be re-commissioned.

Elsawy_Drives Member Joined: 12/8/2018 Last visit: 12/6/2022 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello Best option if you have a current clamp meter, and use it to measure the brake terminals (select any of the two wires) and measure during the breaking. This will give you an indication if the braking resistor + Braking IGBT + Parameter setting are OK. If no current is measured during the braking, then one of the above is defect or Parameters need correction. If there is a current, then probably the drive settings need adjustments, or the machine is overloaded with more products than designed. Feel free to contact us in Egypt Regards EOC-EGYPT
