Here is a bit of program used to 'Count the Pulses' from a INSYS to a LOGO! input. (This can be expanded). The NEWEST INSYS modems for the 0BA6 LOGO! let you write much nicer SMS's (what they call ALIASES) instead of something cryptic like Fux showed you! Just something to remember about the pulses from the INSYS, they are NEGATIVE GOING pulses and also at 10V. In one application where I used it, I had to build a circuit in between to sort this out. (If I remember correctly, I could be wrong, and it was a very long time ago!) Anyway, see if the attached program helps! The duration of the pulses from the INSYS modem are descdibed in the INSYS manual. The LOGO! program has to be written so that it waits until there are no more pulses (about 8 seconds if a pulses train of 10 pulses are sent). Only then does the LOGO! 'react'. If 3 pulses will be sent by the INSYS modem, then you do not want your LOGO! program to react to the first pulse and also to the second pulse etc. Therefore, these timers are built in. Yes, I want to be on the ranking list to get a green laser pointer, so please RATE this! Thanks Aaaaarrrggghhhh!!! ("Have a nice day!") AttachmentLOGOandINSYS.zip (364 Downloads) |

Of course I can tell you some names and models of such GSM(SMS) devices, but I am sure that there are many similar devices in your country. (If you want a list of ones that I have used in my country, send me a private messgae) There are basically only a few manufacturers of the core electronics (Siemens used to be one of them, but have sonce sold that business to www.cinterion.com ) There is also www.wavecom.com(now Sierra Wireless) , www.telit.com etc etc (nokia used to do something like this, so did motorola, qualcom etc) Some of these even make their own modems with inputs & outputs - Siemens used to have the TC45T or TC65T that had up to 10 configurable I/Os and you could write a JAVA program for it. In each country there are sure to be local manufacturers that take these devices and turn them into 'intelligent switching modems' that can then easily interface to LOGO! digital inputs & outputs. Have fun looking on google for 'cellular modems <your country name>' ! Cheers |
