LOGO TDE FS02 ENTER BUTTON ISSUE

I have an old Logo TDE that I’m planning to use with a basic LOGO 0BA8 (with screen). TDE is brand new (out of box). Both units LOGO and TDE where purchased around the same time (some years ago). Logo 0BA8 has been working perfectly (being operated for some time now as well). Trying to configure IP of Logo on TDE without success.

For reference, TDE model is:

6ED1 055-4MH00-0BA1

TDE turns on. Screen works as well as cursor keys (only on places in the screen where there is an arrow), not ENTER button though (more of this below). I’m am also able to PING logo 0BA8 IP using the TDE as a switch. Link LEDs work as expected as well.
 

ON THE ENTER BUTTON issue:
When I try to use the “enter button” or cursor for LOGO SELECTION on the TDE, nothing happens. As matter of fact, I can’t seem to use the enter button with anything. Not wanting to discard the TDE as having a damaged ENTER button from factory just yet, I did just wanted to ask if maybe the TDE is in OP mode (brand new, never used, and purchased from reputable dealer although to late for warranty claim) and this is why I can’t use the enter button. But also do not know how I would change the TDE to the ADMIN mode if that would be the case.

So, what's the right answer ? Brand new from the sealed package ? Or used from the factory ?

The Enter key is the most used key on the TDE. It should work even when connected to power.

Test whether the key still works. To do this, press it gently. You should feel a slight counterpressure followed by a quiet click. Compare it with the other keys on the TDE.

If this isn't the case, the key is pressed in and the membrane keypad is defective. There's no replacement !

Experienced hobbyists might be able to remove and repair the keypad with a bit of luck. Someone who can fabricate a membrane keypad might be able to replace it. Anyone who knows the connection points for the Enter key and is skilled at SMD soldering might be able to make this connection externally.

But all of this only applies to experienced electronics technicians !

Logo and TDE are connected to one another through one patchcord (no Ethernet switch in between). Note that I am unable to reach the IP config on the TDE. I have tried though doing PING to the TDE with my laptop assuming it is on 192.168.0.1 (read elsewhere that it comes from factory preconfigured  with that IP) without luck.

It is brand new - when I say from factory is that I purchased it from a authorized dealer. Maybe not the best words to explain this but you should get the idea-. 

I just had it in the box - with me - for some time ( No reason to expect damage from that. It has never been used until now).

ENTER BUTTON does make the click. I can also feel it to the touch. It seems more to me like it is not been allowed to operate this control (firmware maybe or other configuration parameter that K haven’t been able to check).

What I do notice is that after a while, when the backlight (orange) goes off, all other buttons turn it on, on press, except the enter!

Maybe it is broken but I would not understand why!

First. Thank you for getting involved in this question. I do recognize you as a very experienced user for the LOGO! Hardware. I will try to explain my self further on this message.

To your question. Not in front of the system, but Logo should have the following network configuration:

IP: 192.168.0.3

Mask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.0.10

It’s also in ADMIN mode. I was able to verify this by doing a STOP program and then going to the end of the screen list where it says “change to OP” or something similar (again not in front of the LOGO so I’m not being textual).

Having said the above, I did not went further on your comment, because my system is not connected to an ETH switch or router (as previously mentioned). Connection between both LOGO and TDE is by “one ETH direct patch cord”. DO NOTE that when I say “is”, is that, this is also what I’m expecting to achieve (use the TDE as my switch, using the remaining ETH port on the TDE for service with PC LAPTOP)

I previously mentioned that I’m unable to get into LOGO SELECTION from initial power-on even on the first loaded TDE screen (while connected or not to the LOGO / or computer. Just using power on the TDE), and because of this, I also can’t choose the LOGO NETWORK addresses (configure ETH settings for comm between TDE and LOGO) inside the TDE (be it IP, SubnetMask or gateway). I am able though to use the TDE as a switch because I am able to “ping” the LOGO while this one is connected to the TDE, by using the remaining TDE port with my PC. I have tried to “ping” the TDE as well assuming it’s has IP 192.168.0.1 (I read elsewhere that this is the factory set IP for TDEs) without any luck.

LOGO SELECTION screen seems to me only reachable by the use of the ENTER BUTTON, which I’m unable to use. But this I’m not sure of. As in “Am I missing something”? This is the reason for me asking for help on this forum.

I apologize for not explaining myself earlier and also, for not answering your particular question. I will say though, that it would be great if you can share a solution from your “magical tool bag of tips 😅” as you usually do and if the solution does comes from me, sharing the LOGO MASK, I will consider myself impressed once more.

I can't offer you a solution because I don't have one.

I'm not familiar with the specific error where only the ENTER key doesn't work on a brand new TDE.

According to your information, both devices are in the same IP subnet and should therefore be able to communicate with each other.

Perhaps Siemens can help you.

Do note that I’m unable to see the configured network information on the TDE because I can’t enter the LOGO SELECTION settings. This is what I’m trying to do (Get into LOGO SELECTION settings) and I believe I’m unable to do so from the fact that the “enter button” is not operating.
