Lost Engineering Station – Need to Align Backup with AS in PCS 7 V8.0 SP2

nomanarif_89 Regular Member Joined: 3/30/2015 Last visit: 6/4/2025 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	I have a system running on PCS 7 V8.0 SP2. The issue is that the original engineering station has been lost. I’ve set up a new engineering station and have a program backup, but unfortunately, it is not the latest version. The current archive on the AS (Automation System) has some minor changes compared to the backup. Additionally, I am unable to upload the CFCs from the AS. My question is: is there any procedure to align the outdated backup with the current version running on the AS? Specifically, if I upload the program blocks (e.g., OB1, FB1, etc.) from the AS and then later download them back after making necessary adjustments, will the system function normally?

I think the only remedy is to try to execute a readback and hope it will succeed so that you have at least all OCM variables saved in the offline CFC program. If you have user DB's it's also wise to upload the online db's to an empty S7_program (Link) so you can check. And then a full download of the AS is necessary.

Than as you have said can readback the OCM parameters and apply the differences of interconnections .
