Dear Sir,
We are communicating MAG 8000{Modbus Communication} with Siemens S7200...
It is communicationg fine & we are able to read the values from registers & Coils...

Problem:

When database checksum error ocurs it has to be reset
It can be reset from Flow tool using flow tool ID: FT560
What is the Modbus coil address to send the reset command from the PLC...

I have checked the complete address register list, but there is no exact address to reset this...
Kindly help me out by giving the address for this particular parameter...

Fascinating. Conflicting definitions for the same function.

It's what we call 'shopping for answers', a phenomenon of the current world where

the engineering is 5 levels from the documentator and 12 levels removed from the

users.

The 1st Modbus map provided by one of this forum's users (because none is

available from Siemens' site), states
register 5 is Parameter checksum alarm output enable,
defined as: Select 'Yes' to enable active alarm on alarm output / call-up
0 = No
1 = Yes

The 2nd Modbus provided recently by another of this forum's users (post above this one) states:
register 5 is ERR4::DatabaseChecksumAlarmSet, a coil 1 byte in size.

Although both refer to the DatabaseChecksum alarm, one says it enables an output,

the other claims a 'set' function, the opposite of which is, presumably, a reset

function.

The function of enabling an alarm is quite different than setting' an alarm, or its

opposite, resetting an alarm.

Which is it? Who knows?

I hope the original poster tries it and lets us know whether register 5 really is a reset

function for the Database checksum error.
