The words inside the picture attached is transmitted to PLC, you are sending Status word1, status word 2 and actual frequency For Details about bit of the word is found from respective parameter - for example check r52 - you will get all details about bit Some words like r21 - frequency, r27 - current are transmitted as word so you don't need bit details for that Control word , speed reference is what you will receive from PLC, you can find details in function diagram of this manual Also have a look atOperating Instructions: MICROMASTER PROFIBUS Optional Board for more understanding Regards, Devesh Vithani |

Hello avafab; Vithani is right, the link provided is the best reference for Porfibus controls on MM4 drives. So, let's see how it applies to your case. First, you must know that Micromaster drives follow the guidelines of the ProfiDrive profile, from which the rest of the applications derives. ProfiDrive provides standard telegram lenthsbased on PPOx numbers, which you select when you insertà MM4 drive in a Profibus master,s configuration (HWConfig if you use Step 7). You can select PPO1 to PPO5, as described in the manual suggested. The smallest and easiest to use is PPO3, which allows no PKW (parameter assignement words) and only 2 addresses for PZD (process data). For example you could see in your HWConfig words 256...259 for the input and output addresses for you specific drive. This would mean that at address PQW256 you would find your control word, bits that start/stop and control the rotation (CW/CCW) of the drive, and at address PQW258 you would find the speed reference for the drive. Then at address PIW256 you would have the control status (present state of the bit commands) and at address PIW258 you would find the actual speed status of the drive. For each drive you setup in the master's Profibus configuration you will recieve different addresses for the input and output registers of the drive, simply use these for the control word and speed reference for each different drive. To start the drive (if your HWConfig sets the same addresses as I use in my example) you have to show a rising edge at the LSB of hte control word. You do that by writing first a 0 then a 1 at the LSB; but Profibusdoes notallow bit writing, so you have to use words (in hex format): - write 047E (hex) to PQW256 - then write 047F to the same address. - to stop the drive write 047E to the same address (you can also write 0000 hex) - to change rotation side, write 447F(hex) to the same address To send a speed reference you must have set P2000 to the maximum speed, say 50 Hz, then writing hex 4000 to PQW258 will give you 100% of the parametrized speed (50 Hz); -hex 2000 at PQW258 will llet you run at 50% (25 Hz)...
