I have a 18/21 kW power module that cannot activate the spindle drive and drive the motor, but can simultaneously drive the axes.

The voltages 24 and 15 as well as the DC link are fully present, and the orange LED on the module is on.

I replaced the module with a similar model and the problem was solved.

But I can't figure out what the problem is with this module.

Please advise me on what signal is sent from the power module to the spindle drive?

 1st of all --I found you may have SIMODRIVE 611A, 

now shut off the power disconnect flat cable take picture of spindle control card (I need to see the number 6SN1121-?????, ) BETTER THE WHOLE LABLE

2nd , when you say spindle fault what is the fault number --the fault showing on HMI of CNC and is there F0?? on the spindle card small display

3rd--let here now the story--why system like this--it working good weeks ago. suddenly faulty. or you purchased 2nd machine, power up like this?

 Now i understand you. you have 3rd party CNC but Siemens drive. I think your E/R module is defective --the problem is low voltage part. one of the signal from flat cable

One of the machines with which the power module was tested was the Heidenhain TNC 370, which displayed a spindle drive error alarm after a rotation command, but the F*** error was not displayed on the spindle drive display.

 I have known SIMODRIVE 611A  from 1992 the 1st year when Siemens released it, when I worked as Siemens employee. But I have never meet the case as you described. let me make long story short.

What is your role in company ? Are you able to test run spindle with CNC --that means extenal enable and using battery box to terminal 54/14 . Also 16/21 KW E/R module is not so much cost. so I don't want to spend so much time to troubleshoot it, If you really need spare parts go to online market such as eBay to purchase one .

Originally, this module is for a device with an 810D controller. But because it's a long distance away, I tested it on another machine.

That's right. All 3 axes work without problems.But what voltage is sent through the flat cable to the spindle drive?

Do you know which signal is sent only to the spindle?

 I left Siemens from 2005, But I still working for as hobby and "money" for Siemens Automation.

I have most of device to test most Siemens drive and CNC,PLC

answer me --do you have test bench to test E/R module? and test spindle Module+control card?

If not your customer will allow you to test on their machine?

I do maintenance and repairs for several factories on a freelance basis

 I will show you how test spindle 

#1-You should know how to enable power supply E/R--that should be easy

jumper Terminal 63--9, ter.64--9--Green LED off

jumper ter.48-9 and ter.112--9---Yellow LED On , you will have DC600V on P600 and M600

#2--on spindle control see my picture attached

56/14 connecter battery box (justible 0-9V)

using 3 switches connect one by one 

Ter 9. to 663, to 65, and to 81 

#3--after you enable E/R module , set switch to on as 663, 65,last to 81,

give a little DCV to 56/14 you spindle should be running

No I don't have test bench but my customers allow me to test on their machines
