Error Msg. "The Block is too big"

neo3004 Posts: 3 Rating: (2)	Hi, I am new to S7 - 300 PLC it use 313C CPU and 307 Power supply. After installing PLC and software in PC, it looks everything seems working well. I could retreive CPU information. However, when I try to download Hardware configuration and simple example code to test PLC. I got an error message"The Block is too big" and download becomes failed. It looks as if communication is problem-free and I did memory reset. I've been looking for manual for the cause but I am lost. Any expert is familiar with this type of error? Many thanks in advance! J.H.

WimVD Posts: 6 Rating: (2)	Is there a memorycard in the PLC? The latest compact PLC versions only uses the memory of the card, there is no RAM-memory in the plc anymore. succes

According to CPU diagonostic, I can see there is a certain amount of memory in ROM and RAM. That is reason why I am lost [:cry:], because I can see there is enough memory but diagonostic don't give me clear information about the "biggest downloadable size" Any comment will be welcomed! WimVD Posts: 6 Rating: (2)	i found this in the manual 6ES7398-8FA10-8BA0 The load memory is located on a Micro Memory Card (MMC). The size of the load memory corresponds exactly to the size of the MMC. It is used to store code blocks, data blocks and system data (configuration, connections, module parameters, etc.). Blocks that are identified as non runtime-related are stored exclusively in load memory. You can also store all the configuration data for your project on the MMC. Note User programs can only be downloaded and thus the CPU can only be used if the MMC is inserted in the CPU. So you have to order a MMC card

The newer ones don't have any trouble with loading bigger numbers, for example the blocks that might be loaded for FB's is 64, the highest number of the FB's was then also 64! With the newer CPUs you may use numbers above this FB64. Best regards, Late
