Thank you for your reply; I really appreciate it. I used the same program after making some changes for my different setup, but it still doesn't work. I've attached a file that describes the problem with a simple program, but I always encounter an error. I've never succeeded in getting the TX and RX to blink or receiving a confirmation from the send P2P. I also tested the slave with a Modbus poll, and it works. i'm not totally sure but it looks like you are trying to read modbus registers from “extended range” (4xxxxx instead of 4xxxx). Seems you probably need some prerequisites for that, see here Normal modbus rtu works for me once i change a parameter as shown here: |

It's working now. I only inserted the communication module with the CPU. I'm not sure if it needs a specific location or if it was incorrectly placed in the rack. |
