Hi everyone, I need your advice on the best approach for a small project I’m working on. I want to set up Modbus communication between my S7-1200 PLC and a pump, so I can display data like alarms, voltage, speed, etc.

Since it’s a simple project, I’d also like to use it as a chance to improve my web design skills. I’ve done some research and set up both an AWP-based web server and an API connection to the PLC. Both seem to work in my tests, but I’m still unsure which option is better — or if there’s an even better method for speed and reliability.

One thing I noticed is that AWP feels a bit slow, though it could be something I misconfigured.

So my question is: What’s the best way to build a web interface to communicate with the PLC?
