Suggest make A motor running 1st passive B . when A is running OK, then add B,

Read book again for Master -Slave function 

You also need basic SIMATIC S7 knowledge. better have S7-300 CPU and I/O to connected 611U, then step-by-step to try

Hello

I have an application: Simodrive 611U 2 axes. Positiong the table through 2 motors (2 axes) A and B.

Maybe someone has example of this use simodrive through Profibus DP.

2 axes : one motor A should be a master for the second one motor B.

And via profobus DP I want to start the traversing block, but I have some problem how to make a connection in simodrive between A and B, and to start it from Profibus DP.

 Very good, another suggestion and tips

SIMOCOM U is a very good software for set up 611U, try to use as much function as you can--make you job easier. special for your PROFIBUS communication you can use its "diagnosis " function to check every signals traffic.

Some tips for PROFIBUS <-->611U

#1-DP sub-module GSD you can search and download from Siemens web

#2--there is "Control Word" in 611U you need set bit #10 to"1" to enable the PROFIBUS control function--read book

Tips for 611U position control:

#1--you need reference axis if you use incremental encoder

#2--the position function will be executed by something like NC Block save in parameter #1 to # 80--you can edit by SIMOCOM U

Thanks for the answer.

I have a good knwoledge about the S7. I have a communication S7 -> Simodrive and it's working.

So I will prepare all data from Profbus in visualisation system and test it by myself, bit by bit.

I think it's only right way to start it.

 #1-Reference is simple, normally you need connect a input bit as limit switch for Cam or call declaration trigger. you have option to run REF as no cam if you motor to ball screw is 1:1

#2--it is hard to talking master slave here you need read the manual by yourself --basically you set Master as position control mode and set slave as current control--this is Master-Slave --slave will follow master moving it only gives toque.

Other idea --I not sure --maybe you want gantry function --that will be different--you set both A and B axis in Position control, but A is the leading and B is the follower

I run one axis and it's working but I have one question.

How to set reference point via profibus DP ?

Now I make from Simocom U.

I have  aproblem with control master A - slave B drive.

If I want to put coupling it doesn't working.

When I control separetly drive A and B it's working with traversing blocks.

I try to make the same as in example of docuemntation, master-slave via Profibus.

Maybe do you know Why ?

 You see I am very well in CNC, reference is one of main topic in CNC. if you have absolute encoder, ref. must so easy. --you don't need reference every power up--actually we do not call it reference but setting, you follow the sequence from SIMOCOM U, set one time --if you don't make drive initial the reference point  will be set forever, you can adjust some position or shift or display by parameter--use SIMOCOM U

#2--YOU APPLICATION I think will same as in CNC system--gantry function.--611U may not have.

However when you all done please let me know and share basic information here.

I have still problem with setting refernce point.

I want to make the same as button from SimocmU SetReference point, which write reference value to absolute encoder value.

None of bit work, also phisical input also.

After the test I will not make master-slave.

I will control both of axes A and B through traveling blocks, and i the PLC I will control both encoders value. If values will be different than some delta then I will put error bit to the PLC program and stops working of drive.
