Hello, I am looking to control these parameters using the B&R plc. P2274: PID derivative time P2280: PID Propotional gain P2285: PID integral time I have B&R soft PLC communicating with the Siemens S120 device over Profibus. I am trying send the technology controller Kp and Ki ( p2274, P2280 & P2285) parameters to the PLC. The communication is over free telegram BICO. With the current configuration, this is not possible to do any interconnection.I am not sure as this can be done using cycling communication or not. Could you please help with an example where I can see how to select or do acyclic communication over Profibus?Do I have to change the complete Communication protocol? or I can add in an existing one? I can do a dedicated telegram of the three parameters? If this is the case do I have manual or something I can refer? Or there is another way to do it? https://support.industry.siemens.com/forum/fr/en/posts/s120-pid-technology-control/327484/?page=0&pageSize=10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AttachmentIOMapping.pdf (216 Downloads) |

The fastest path forward really depends on your level of programming with B&R soft PLCs. If you are expert level, you can try the equivalent of Siemens WRREC and RDREC commands to read/write data acyclic like. You should submit a Support Request (https://siemens.com/SupportRequest) and point to this topic and explain your project needs, wants, goals and objectives. If you really want to dynamically adjust the S120 PID values, you may find it much easier to commission the S120 with multiple parameter datasets containing 1 PID tuning set per dataset, and then dynamically (via standard PB Telegram) change the active dataset. Letting the S120 auto-tune to your motor is definitely preferable to manually adjusting tuning values during operation.
