Faced an issue of input configuration setting between HMI & Factory IO

AutoGen_5e8a1 Joined: 6/11/2025 Last visit: 7/14/2025 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	TIA portal V17 beginner user here so bear with me! I configured a start button on HMI and set invert bit on it to make it a toggle button (Press once to ON, press 2nd time to OFF). By pressing the start button on HMI, it works as intended as seen in the ladder diagram in simulation. However, after connecting to factory IO through PLCSIM, it seems that pressing the start button on HMI doesn't toggle the signal on ladder diagram. Google said it something regarding the input, but I am not sure which to change. Do let me know what is causing the issue Thanks guys!

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/5/2025 Posts: 16343 Rating: (1931)	Hello AutoGen_5e8a1 first of all, which HMI do you use? you have to check if the HMI conntection from your PLC Sim is established to your HMI simulation: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109748099 check also: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/88193789 you can also use an alarm window and check the systemalarms at startup if the HMI connection to PLC is established or not Bye Murof
