I am trying to connect Keyence IV4 sensor to my Siemens S7-1200 plc, CPU 1215-C. I have downloaded the GSD file provided by Keyence, but I am not able to compile because it says there are too many entries on the GSD file for my PLC. However, the GSD file should be compatible with this PLC (it says so on the user manual). Where could the problem come from?

Is there a way to use EthernetIP for the connection?

I have same problem.

S7-1200 has only 1024 inp and outp.

So minus analog and Counters aso there is not enough space for IV4.

We need to reduce unused output from IV4 camera.

The problem is that the Keyens Profinet device almost takes up al input area from 1200 cpu.

The profinet device has 900 bytes of output data to the inputs of the PLC, so together with an other profinet device the CPU1200 does not have enough input adresses for the Keyence device.

I only use a few words from the Keyence device.

Question is:

can I remove the unused slot's and output area from profinet device without the PLC gives an error?

You need to buy S7 1500 series with 32KB IO map

Just  use the few bytes  you use and don’t use the rest .
