If you need to stick with the RF1040R please share the configuration of RF120C.

Does the RF1040R have power? You don't need an external power supply. RF120C can provide power for RF1040R. 6GT2891-6UH20 would be the cable you need.

Have you sucessfully sent a Write Config command (Reset_Reader)?  Did it finish without error? Are you using the technology object?

 This is my first project with such a hardware configuration. I have been trying to do something for 2 days but there are no results. I installed all the programs, tried to configure RF1040r, reread many pdf files but again the result did not go further than what I came here with.

 My configuration is exactly the same as your screenshot. Yes, it would be nice for me to at least read the UID of the card, but I still can't read anything. I'm already wondering if they are really compatible with each other, I mean RF120C and RF1040r?

RF1040R works with RF120C (as long configurations match and cabling is correct).

You should narrow things down.

Suggestions:

Test the RF1040R configuration with a terminal program (or the demo tool) on a PC
Test the RF120C side with a second RF120C or a terminal program on a PC
