Hello,

I have a project with an S210 drive and an absolute encoder. Catalog number is 1FT2204-6AF11-1Cxx. The PLC is an S7 1500 v3.0, and the drive has been updated to FW v6.3. The motion control has been configured with the positioning axis Technology Object. The drive loses the actual position of the motor during a power cycle or communications failure with the drive. Homing is performed with MC_Home Mode 7. I have noticed that the actual encoder online value (Gx_Xist1) Does not retain through the power cycle. Also if a mode 7 home is performed, and the motor is not moved from the homed position, the actual position will be retained through the power cycle. 
Any help is greatly appreciated.

so far everything looks fine. But please try what happens if you remove the check box "Automatically apply encoder values durch configuration(offline)".

Hello All,

After many adjusts and study I have adjusted the Absolute Position:

Now I can turn off PLC, took off the cables from motor, move the axis with PLC Powered Off, and the position is remained recorded.

Some steps:

1 - Disable Online Values Update => On Technology Object -> "Automatic apply drive values at runtime (online), for both settings: Data Exchange with the Drive and the motor.
2 - Reset the PLC Retentive Absolute Encoder Reference => On Technology Object -> Unflagging Encoder 1, download to PLC, Flag Encoder 1 again, download to PLC. In my case I flagged the Encoder 2 when I unflagged the 1, to not delete my program. (Pag.166 - Resetting the absolute value offset of an encoder)
3 - Execute MC-HOME with mode 6 (ABSOLUTE) or 7 (RELATIVE).

Great!!! Now, the reference from Absolute Encoder and offset are recorded on CPU-T retentive memory.
