S7-300 (Profibus) to S7-1500 (Profinet) communication

The S7 300 is an original system on the machine in question, and I am looking to interface it with a newer S7 1500 with the intention of utilising GET/PUT to share information / data. I believe I require a piece of hardware to interface the two communication types, potentially a gateway of sorts? There seems to be a few options to achieve this but I am unsure which solution would be most appropriate. The S7 300 CPU also has two Simovert masterdrives connected on the current Profibus interface, these will have to remain connected via Profibus. In such a scenario adding a CP 343-1 to the S7-300 is not an appropriate method. In such a scenario you will need to adopt the S7-1500 side to the given possibilities. In your situation that is PROFIBUS. The S7-1500 offers CM/ CP1542-5 for such communications. Keep in mind, that PUT/ GET communications are single sided. That means the S7-300 will never notice, that you changed values inside the data blocks. It is considered insecure and should be avoided when possible. When a change in the running system is possible, then Murof's answer is OK.
