Hello Everyone, I am not able to find a I/O system which has Profinet System Redundancy R2. Is there any? Thanks AttachmentProfinet System Redundancy R2.pdf (1019 Downloads) |

Hello Everyone, Can I use ET 200SP HA? in its datasheet it mentions Profinet System Redundancy Mode S2, R1. Does it mean either ET 200SP HA can be used S2 only or R1 only or S2 and R1 combined which is same as R2 System redundancy mode. Please respond soon. hi Raghu Kodi, what about asking Siemens directly? Have a look in the Contact Database for engineering support. Choose your region and ask your local Siemens representive. hope this helps, regards, |

Just to complement Daniel's thoughtful and solid feedback. Lets assume you find IO devices that support R2 (which I doubt as they seem to be rare as Hen's teeth). The question then is, do you have redundant IO Controllers that support R2? If not, there's no point trying to find R2 IO Devices and as far as I know, redundant IO Controllers that support R2 are just as elusive as IO devices that support R2. Bear in mind that with usage of S2 and R1, each of the redundant IO Controllers only maintains one AR (Application relationship) with each IO device. With R2 though, each IO Controller needs to maintain two AR's (Application relationship) with each IO Device. |

ET 200SP HA distributed I/O system supports S2 or R1 Redundancy . The NAP R2 configuration shall have two PN interfaces per IO device (IM) and each of these interfaces can process two communication relationships (ARs) to two IO controllers (IOCs). This can give a very high availability of 4 communication possibilities. There are no modules in the current portfolio which supports R2 as of now. The below video explains the various PROFINET System Redundancy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyKJe2eHTCs Regards, Amol
