416-2DP and intelligent slave communication

para35127 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a 4162DP as master DP with several standard ET200S slaves connected to it. To read the the periphery i use in my code simple steps like DB401.SWITCH[N] := I[400,0] (with digital) or DB401.CALIB[N] := PIW[450] (with analog). Now i want to add an intelligent ET200S (IM151-7 cpu) to my profibus network as slave. I saw from siemens site how to do configuration hardware but my question is: can the dp master directly read the periphery of this new slave (using I and Q addresses of the I/O) with simple instructions like that i mentioned before or i have to use special communication functions like I_PUT / I_GET ? Thanks.

This I/O Addresses are used to transfer data between the DP-Master and the DP-Slave. If you want to copy I/Os which are located on the ET200S to the DP-Master you have to write a short program within your ET200S CPU. Good luck Sabine

para35127 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	So this means that i can't simply do in the master program somethink like PIW[450] to read the 450 address of the analog input module connected to the intelligent slave ? Thanks.
