Communicate IOT2040 with S7-CPU410-5H

HanMechatronik Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello everybody , i would like to communicate the IOT2040 with S7-CPU410-5H via ProfiNet to exhange data between them. Could i program the IOT2040 with SIMATIC-Manager and establish the communication or should i use only TIA-Portal for that? If yes, could you please provide me an example for programming IOT with SIMATIC-Manager? The other question: Is TIA-Portal used only for eduaction purposes or coult it be used for industrial applications? Thanks alot in advance!

bergmanu Platinum Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 3345 Rating: (379)	Hi, I will answer your last quesition at first: There is a small PLC available for the IOT2040 (IOT2000EDU), with this the IOT2040 can be programmed in TIA Portal like a PLC. This functionality is onyl available for educational purposes. This PLC does not offer Profinet! To use Profinet on the IOT2040 you can use the Profinet Driver, which works only as PN Controller. You also need TIA Portal for that, but only to configure the hardware. The programm itself needs is in C/C++. Here you can find the necessary donwloads as well as a quickstart guide for the Profinet Driver. Here you can find an example for cyclic data exchange. Best regards!
