Stickman Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	I am trying to resolve a problem with my 6SE7003-7xx60-1AA1-Z drives. I am getting A083 on both drives but I cannot connect to the drives as my Drive Monitor software does not have the Profibus option in the communications setup, only serial (COM1) and USS. These drives have been in operation for several years, without a problem. This morning we could not start up bexcause of this fault. I have checked the cables and I cna "see" the drives on the "available nodes" but cannot get drive monitor to run from step7 or get communication to the drives via drive monitor.

DenisMor Posts: 344 Rating: (50)	DriveMonitor integrated into Step7 is called DrivesES Basic. DriveMonitor is a free package, but it does not give you connectivity over Profibus, routing through PLC, and integration into Step7. DrivesES does.

My problem was P053 was not set for free parameterization, and I was not using the corect cable, in the correct manner.With all the right hardware I was able to connect to the drive and we replaced the ProfiBus communications card to correct the original fault.
