Hi! Basically, all the information you need during of installation of automation systems located in simatic module data manual and installation manual for CPUs (example). However, if you are looking for more specific information or just want to know the general earthing/grounding principles in low-voltage installations and/or building installations use these standarts: 1.IEC 61131 (Part 2) - General standard for PLCs 2.IEC 60364Electrical Installations for Buildings 3.IEC 61800 Adjustable speed electrical power drive systems List of IEC standards (actually incomplete, but large enought) locatedhere. If you have specific question - feel free to ask) |

Hello IBN-Service Most of the new Installation guidelines have a small section about "Equipotential Bonding" without providing a comprehensive Earthing Guideline, which to my mind is a very important part of installation. You are perfectly right in saying that the Drives manuals generally give better description. The best description that I could locate in is the attached manual for Motion Control ( Page-21 ) In fact, the old SIMATIC-S5 manuals always had very detailed guidelines regarding Earthing, and EMC protection. I wish, Siemens provides a Comprehensive set of guidelines to users as this is one critical area where users are most ignorant.
