In general, OPC is the "best" (= most convenient way) to do such communication. Also, you can program an OPC client fairly easy (C, C++, C#, Java, whatever you like...) as well as throw in a SQL DB (My / Postgre). This will help a lot: How can you access an S7-1200 PLC by PC Access and what is to be considered? There is another FAQ here: Flexible Decoding and Processing of Data Matrix Codes with S7-1200 (CE-X27) that is doing something simple, but using MS Access. Although I'm not a big fan of Access, you can definitely get a rough idea, but if you've got some basic programming skills, I would recommend to go to the SQL solution mentioned. There are virtually no limits in what you can achieve... Hope this helps. |
