I followed the procedure completely but the PLC STOP still stands. The following alarm still appears:
Any ideas on how can this be solved? Also how can I connect my normal pc with a DB9 9-pin serial port, to the front interface of the Sinumerik in order to communicate directly with the PLC through S5W (Step 5 for Windows)? I see in page 6-19 of the document 810_GA2_Installation_Instructions.pdf a cable layout but this was used for the PG 6xx series of field programmers, which I do not have. I believe there must be a way to connect and send the S5W project file directly to the PLC, am I wrong? Thank you very much. |

Key point for you how to connect PLC in 810T to PG (S5): --you need the same cable same as you transfer NC MD (%TEA1) --You must connect to front panel D type 25 pin interface ---Going to SETTING DATA --SETTING BITS--set 5010=0000 0100 ---Going to DATA IN/OUT--DATA IN --START ----Going to your PG with S5 making PLC on line (some time F3 sone time mouse click )

Well, I managed to connect to the PLC, now the machine has all the supposedly correct data. I have uploaded: TEA1 TEA2 All the other data. I managed to connect directly to the PLC using Step 5 for windows and sent the program to the PLC. The machine starts with no errors, but I have a major problem. The PLC does not seem to be acting on the various outputs. I checked on the Diagnosis and the Inputs are updating. I checked also through Step 5 if there was any error in the PLC and it does not give an error. Is there any PLC-MD special procedure that has to be performed in order to put the plc working? I also checked the red led on the CPU card and it starts lit up and after a while it turns off, meaning, according to the manual, that everything is running OK. What can the problem be? Does anyone have any idea? Thank you in advance. |

The PLC is running, the is no PLC Stop alarm and also the process of startup is correctly performed, namely, the red led on the back of the CPU card lights up when restarting and after starting up, it turns off, which, according to the manuals, means the PLC is correctly started. There is no action on any part of the machine, which leads me to believe that the PLC is not performing any of its functions. I can post the PLC project for Step 5 here if it helps. I do not know a lot about this PLC language, but to my understanding and from what I read in the PLC Programming manual, the basis seems to be functional. Maybe I am missing something. Thanks for your feedback. But I cannot help you by reading PLC program, actually No one can help like that. What you need to do is finding out original PLC program Backup--PCP and original PLC MD --TEA2 |

I have put the PCP file back on. The only error I get is with error 6115. I followed the manual and set bit 4 of PCL-MD 2003 and found out that the error is due to a TIR 46 instruction in a Program Block (PB) of my PLC program. I did the following, I uploaded the PCP file to the PLC and then, after restart, I downloaded the blocks to Step 5 for windows. After analyzing it becomes clear that the program is stopping at the TIR 46 instruction. Can this TIR instruction be replaced by something or is the parameter 46 not a valid one? Thank you in advance. |

I have had to go back to your 1st post to check the story of the your machine--but I found nothing. I mean --why your machine lost data and how or where did you get the backup data Let me say something straightly --I cannot help you to check PLC program, that would be better I made a new PLC program than check other people's program.--810T/M is my 1st learned Siemens CNC system , dating back to 1989 (GA2 at that time) . I have helped OEM customers made more than 3 different type of 810M GA3 controlled machines , 2 of them with ATC. and I still make services for 810M/T ( GA1,GA2,GA3) now. I meet many cases (not only for 810T/M) that problem are data lost but if your have real original backup data for THAT MACHINE -you will get it running in hours. So let me know the machine have some special function. and tell here the story I am looking at beginning of today's post
