I want to know FM458 can run huge programs with 100 micro second sampling time or no?

Mahya Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Dear Friends I used sampling time 100micro second with FM458 I have a complex system. it is measuring system and also fast close loop control for thyristor valves. I finished measurement with out problem then start another part in new project and finished it without any problem too. but when i mixed these two project in a same project suddenly i noticed that the sampleing time changed!!!!!!!!!!! and increased to 200 micro second and this situation ruined all my program. is it normal???? I want to know FM458 can run huge programs with 100 micro second sampling time or no?????

After setting thesampling task to 100 us and compiling your program just see to compilation log (CFC menu Options-Logs then switch toCompile tab). At the end of log you will find the string begins with "CPU load approx.", if this value below 100%, then your program may run at 100us.

KSN Platinum Expert Joined: 8/25/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2024 Posts: 2211 Rating: (280)	Load of 448% mean that computation of your program will be 4.5 times longer than 100us, so in any case you should increase sampling time or shift some blocks to the slower tasks.

miami Platinum Expert Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 11/13/2024 Posts: 2198 Rating: (328)	The calculated percentage is the average value. Due to cache the real times may vary. Program a PSL block in T5, this block reads out the acutal CPU load (for each task)
