Because I have FM 458-1 DP, EXM 438 and I have incremental encoder to sensing the revolutions of electric motor. I try to set it and then I turn on the test mode in CFC (and switch on the electric motor) but on the Y output of NAV block appear nothing. Best Regards POLIP

I using incremental encoder from LARM firm , it is IRC 200/1000 . Its parameters: 1000 pulse/ 1 rev it have to signal A and B with phase quadrature I using the LiYCY 5*0,25 FACAB 50104 cable and usin SU 13 to interconnection EXM 438 with IRC. miami Platinum Expert Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 10/22/2024 Posts: 2198 Rating: (328)	First pleaseset the ~~SYM~~ MOD Connector to 16#0000, if you really need the standstill functions you may activate later, the rest (the "right" two bytes) must be 00. You wrote you have aIRC 200/1000 from LARM. I found this. You must check you have the IRC202/1000 or the IRC205/1000 Depending you have the IRC202/1000 or IRC205/1000 encoder type you have to addjust the DIP switches in the EXM348: see here in chapter 2.2.5 The IRC202/1000 needs +-15V and the IRC205/1000 needs +-5V setting.

You can't find this IRC on firm website ,because they already don't produce it. I addjusted the DIP switchesaccordance manual. Butit not work. I haven't a Y output. Best Regards POLIP

Please check the PRE connector, is it sometime 1 when you move the encoder? What setting did you choose at the EXM438, 5V or 15V? Choosing 5V when a 15V signal is connected may damage your card! Can you meter a signal at the SU13 terminals (use a normal voltmeter, when you move the encoder you must meter some volts, when you stop moving youmust meter either 0V or 5/10/15 or 30V; check both cannels) Did you check the your wiring? Are you shure to have selected the right terminals and corespondending hardware adress?

Please set RS to 1.0 , this will give you the speed in rounds per second/minute at Y. After changing a value at RS or MOD you must restart the FM, to activate the changes (initialisating values).
