Noise and how it affects the AIO

adamb Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Hye all experts. I am curious how noise affect the input & output of AI &AO. This is based on actual problrm suspected due to noise but i am not referring to any PLC. As we know,there are few types of datafile ie. DB which can store integer. If the problem was due to noise,is it possible it will only affect certain addres or memory location? The one i saw was showing a continuously changing of the integer; the integer say 24 is keep changing 24,-24,24,-24,24,-24 continuously.the input from the field was verified to be stable. How does poor grounfing at AI & AO card contribute to this? Anothet possibility that was told yo me is the comunication.but i totally disagreed.for me,comm problem wont affect only one particular datafile,it should be all.

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 11/18/2024 Posts: 12294 Rating: (2691)	Hello adam; This might not directly answer your question, but if you search for analog input/output grounding issuesusing the Search box at the right of this page you will find many threads on such problems, and you will see many examples of the type of problem erroneous connections of Analog inputs and outputs can be experienced in the field. In their manuals Siemens prefers to give recommendations on wiring and proper grounding that would tend to eliminate these problems, rather than describing allissues.
