PCS7 V8.1 OS communication with PLCSIM

Hi, I have some problems trying to simulate project on PCS7 V8.1 (no problems with previous versions).

AS simulated with PLCSIM, OS -> "start OS simulation".

There is no connection between OS and AS (TCP connection). I noticed one thing - as soon as I start PLCSIM, Communication configuration Console shows that Ethernet interface is not operational. There was no such behavior in previous version (PCS7 V8.0 SP1). Maybe this is the problem. Any ideas ?

p.s. PCS7 installed in virtual Vmware Workstation system.

I have PLCSIM and WinCC running on VMware and it works fine. In the communication settings I have the same entry for S7 test ("The interface is not operational"). So that could not be the reason.

My configuration steps are:

Configure IP addresses in HW config for PC-Station and PLC.

Than configure the PC-Station (Station Manager). After that I created a S7 connection between PLC and PC in Netpro and compile it. Than I download the configuration to the PC-Station (in netpro). I only download the chart folder to PLCSIM. Than I compile the OS and choose the connection which I created before (not "Named Connection". And it works with fine!

Look at the readme manual under  chapter "4.1.5 Using S7 PLCSIM":

Simple application tests can be carried out with PLCSIM without the availability of AS hardware.
The project should be adapted as follows:
1. If the AS-OS connection is "NamedConnection" (PCS 7 Standard): compile OS "Change"
and change connection to network type "Industrial Ethernet."
2. Start PLCSim from the SIMATIC Manager.
3. Load HW Config.
4. Set the PG/PC interface in PLCSIM to PLCSIM(ISO) (if this has not already been done
automatically)
5. Load charts / programs.
6. Set PLCSIM to operating mode "RUN".
7. SIMATIC Manager: in the Project -> OS -> "Start OS Simulation" or "Open Object" and then
"activate".

So, try it with ISO. Also NO named connection .

With ISO it is working, with TCP no. It is strange, because on older version I was using TCP. 
Do you also have the same situation - no connection when connection TCP ?

My CPU is 410-5H without CP443-1, so when compiling WinCC I have no ISO option (only named connection or TCP).What about real system ? We are planing to use integrated interface for PlantBus communication. Is it only PLCSIM problem ?

For testing I added CP443-1 and ISO connection. I hope Siemens will fix this.

If you have a look at the "Configuration Examples for S7-400H with PROFINET"  document under Chapter "4.2 Communication between H-CPU and plant PCs" you can read on page 25:

"CP 443-1 or internal PN interface?
In the above picture the CP 443-1 is used (based on ISO or ISO-on-TCP).
Alternatively, the PN interface can also be used (based on ISO-on-TCP).
The interne PN interface can perform PN-IO (integrating distributed field devices)
and communication to other controllers at the same time. The distributed field
devices must be PN-IO."

 Sorry, dont understand what you want to say. If I try to configure ISO-ON-TCP connection in NetPro between WinCCApplication and CPU410-5H I get an error "No corresponding CP exists". The only connection type I can insert is "S7 connection". Which, when I compile WinCC gives my "Named connection" or "TCP", neither of which works in simulation. According to CPU410 manual, you CAN use integrated port for PlantBus (connection between PLC and servers). 

My CPU410-5H is single, not redundant.

The way I can see it from here, based on the manuals in front of me. The processor is designed to connect to the plantbus via integrated PNIO port by TCP/IP. You can read about this under "https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/96839331" chapter "3.2.1 Configuring the interfaces for connection to the plant bus and the terminal bus without using an external CP".

By the way it does not say anything about supporting ISO protocol on PlantBus. In the mean time PLCSim is limited to use ISO, so it will be difficult to use PLCSim to simulate the station without external CP.

So If you have to use ISO protocol on the Plantbus, you will probably have issues. I think on TCP/IP that should be fine as this is well described in the attached manual.

Check your client's NW architecture regarding to Plantbus settings, and let us known is need more help.

I have checked it in my test system and it works fine!

So there is no bug in the software...

Check your settings (IP addresses and so on)!

New question published by AutoGen_903979 is split to a separate thread with the subject PCS7 V8.1, didn't see any connection and i am getting message NO S7 PROGRAM IS SELECTED.
