Printer Server (Repetier)

Hey, anyone got experience with installing/running a 3d Printer server on the IOT? Repetier is preferred as I know the host software already, but any experience is welcome (there's always someone else who can profit from it).

Background: I have moved recently and was now setting up my printer int he new living room, and noticed the USB cable is too short to reach my PC. So I figured setting up a printer server on my IOT would be the best way to solve this

Does your printer have an SD-Card? My Workflow is to create a gcode file with a slicer (RepetierHost+Slic3r or Cura) on my desktop computer and put it on the SD-Card for printing.

Even for a printer without SD-Card, I would keep that workflow and use a tool like Octoprint.

RepetierHost has a XWindow-UI. I would prefer a Web-UI like that from Octoprint to access it remotely.

I'm also really interested to use Octoprint or something similar on the IOT.

But as i know Octoprint is only available on the PI.

Maybe it would be possible to set up something similar.
