Read axis position in part-program

Hi to everyone

I need to read the position of the axis Z1 in the part program and store this value in an R parameter (that'll be use in the next blocks for axis movement).

I think that instruction will be a thing like this:

POS(Z1)= R60

but which is the correct command?

You can use the following command

STOPRE

R60 = $AA_IM[Z] ; Read Z axis position in machine coordinate and store in R60

or

R60 = $AA_IW[Z] : Workpiece
