Sinamics G120 Control Unit USB bridge driver

Join Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello, Ik want to connect my pc to a Sinamics G120 with CU230P-2HVAC control unit. I have read in the manual that I must be able to this with a USB cable. When I connect the drive with a USB cable to my pc, I must install the driver. Where can I download this driver? Greetss

The following is required to commission the inverter via the PC: A PC connection kit for connecting the inverter to a PC. This comprises: - USB cable for connecting inverter to PC - Installation DVD for STARTER A PC with installed STARTER software V4.1.5 or higher. Information on the actual STARTER version and a possibility of downloading it from the Internet under http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/10804985/133100. Join Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	That I know, My problem is that I have the control unit on my desk here, the powerunit is already installed in the cabinet at the client. So now I want to test the communication with the PLC (over modbus), but then I have to setup the parameters. I have installed starter and connected the controlunit with a USB cable to my pc. Then I have to install the USB driver. I found in the manual that the driver is deliverd with the drive, but I don't have it here, so I want to download it from the internet, but I can't find it. Greetss

After a freshly installed copy of STARTER and a CD230P-2 DP controller; I plug my usb cord into my laptop than into the drive and windows installs the G120 drivers but no usb to serial port adapter drivers. I tried to browse the extracted zip files for a driver but there were too many folder to go through. Please advise on how to get the usb driver installed.

Is there a Point "S7USB", if yes then use this to connect to the G120. Normaly no additional drivers need for G120, all drivers installed with STARTER. Regards Christoph

It's a link to a siemens page that helps you reinstall or relocate the USB driver. It's also possible to update the version of the driver in this way if i'm not mistaken.

The Control Untit do not work without a Power Module! For the communication it is not required the PM is connected to power, if you put 24V on the CU.
