Yes.  Use the Siemens online configuration tools and manuals for their VFDs to help select the right one for your needs.

I know micromaster offers 1 phase in, 3 phase out.  Maybe some low-end G family drives also offer it as the G drives have mostly picked up the micromaster market.

 I think Jay is looking for 1 phase in and 1 phase out.   IMO Jay was not looking for the 1phase in and  230Vac 3 phase out.

@dchartier I did find the same link while searching online. But reluctant to go further with that. Because of this less common VFD for Single phase motor, I am in doubt whether these VFD available will be really able to fit the motor or it will burn out the Motor coils. So just put it here to see whether there is anyone out here worked with this kind of VFD. 

My thoughts after going around online is that, it is not really good to have a VFD for Single phase Motor. Three phase Motor is the best and you can play with VFD for this kind without any worries.

So kinda gave up the search. Thanks for all your responses though.

The application dictates what is a good idea to use. My guess is you need a small motor. Stepper motors or small servo motors or DC motor can also work. In one of my applications I have a truck-windshield-wiper-motor (24Vdc) doing a job.

The best advise I can give you when choosing some option - evaluate how easy it is to get a replacement if something goes wrong. If the application demands that 'special' thing, look into having a spare (and charge the client for it ).

The application is for a single phase Pump to play with different flow for testing purpose. As of now we got a smaller pump with lower flow, but my customer is like curious to know whether it is possible to regulate the flow with VFD for single phase Pump. I had said to them, it is bit complex, but I will keep them updated if any.

 Maybe  a DC pump with PWM maybe good. But unfortunately the one which we are having here is an AC Pump.

A variable flow rate can also be achieved by a variable orifice, or a flow control valve with a small motor controlled by maybe a 0-20mA, 0-5 or 0-10VDC signal.  Then just have a "relief" bypass valve that takes up the excess pressure and flow and returns it back to the tank.

Thanks huggy for the inputs, we were thinking of it for the worst case. VFD was an easy choice to make as it requires less effort. But the problem for us is the single phase pump. We may well go in the direction like you suggested because of the uncommon Single phase VFD which we weren't sure about.

Make some inquiries with the company that Mr. Chartier found for you. Tell them exactly what you want to do. The pump has a capacitor (right?) - tell that to them too. They will have suggestions to make.  Learn things. It only costs your time.

Chances are you will have other ideas. If however you do buy the product, buy more than you need. Have the client pay for the 'special' case.

I know the type of clients you have in your part of the world. They make you pay for things they do not need now, but you have to keep it in stock for beakdowns.

Play hardball and clever. They (client) understand money. This special drive's price (x2) is less expensive than the alternatives as huggy_d1 mentions. Quoting both to compare to the client.  Option 1 - client pays for x2 drives; Option 2 - change design (piping, tanks, valve, ..); Option 3 - Do not do task. Do not be bullied to other options.
