Splicing Motor/Encoder cables on Sinamics drives

Timmy12345 Posts: 61 Rating: (1)	I have a gantry crane with 6 motors placed around on the machine and using sinamics s120. All the cables go through several dragchains with junction boxes at each end in where both motor and encodercable is spliced in respectively junction boxes. I was wondering how is the best way to perform this splicing of cables when it isnecessary? Is there any piece of hardware available which is designed for this purpose?

Drives_Coach Posts: 133 Rating: (13)	Hello, For the motor power cables I would look at the extensions of power cables with Speed Conectors in the PM21 catalog chapter 8. For the encoders I hope you are using motors with Drive CLiQ so you can use the Drive CLiQ couplers in the attached pdf. Otherwise it is never a good idea to splice an encoder cable.
