Trouble with OS compile (plant hierarchy mismatch)

I have little experience with this environment so I'm trying to test everything in the office before changing the actual system. I have a PCS7 project of the plant but it's not the latest version (there definitely were some changes but I don't know exactly what was changed). PCS7 [multi]project consists of separate projects: some of them are for PLCs, one for Engineering Station (ES), one for both OS servers, and multiple projects for OS clients. Currently the only problem I have is the OS compilation. If I follow the instructions in the manual, part of the plant doesn't get compiled. I have found out that for Area-oriented compilation to work the first level of plant hierarchy in OS and AS projects must match. In my case part of the hierarchy does not match (see the attached picture). When I try to do the OS compilation, STEP7 can't create connections between these un-matched hierarchy folders thus tags/screens/messages/etc does not get generated. The problematic folders are WASTE and POWER_SUPPLY. If I switch to AS-oriented compilation I can get tags and messages generated, but not screen icons (I'm using multiple copies of the project for all these tests). In properties of all the projects I see that they were created with STEP7 V5.4 SP3. Based on information found [url=http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22761505]here[/url] I can say that the project was created in PCS7 V7.0 SP1 which uses the area-oriented compilation as default. If I change the mode to AS-oriented it will be saved in the project, which is not the case this time - all projects originally were set to area-oriented compilation. In office I work with PCS7 V7.0 SP3. I could assume that these parts of the project were not finished yet when the project was archived, but in the WinCC project I can see automatically generated tags/icons/etc for the objects from these un-matched hierarchy folders. This means that the project somehow was successfully compiled but I can't figure out how. So the question is how to compile Operator Stations in this situation? In my case part of the hierarchy does not match (see the attached picture). Hi, when you work with PCS 7 it is recommended to use the Area-oriented compilation (see Compendium Part A). But for this, as you already discovered, the first OS levels have to match in each project that is compiled into the OS. Cant you adapt the first levels, maybe insert a general superior level?
