"SCADA" is everything, from Switch to IEDs to local HMI. Calling HMI or control center "SCADA" is confusing. Not your fault, most people do this mistake and even manufacturers. IEC61850 is a standard which offers some protocols: - Data mapping to MMS and communicate with Clients, which is probably what you need and is used to communicate to Gateways, RTUs and HMIs (the SCADA you mention). GOOSE, which is used to exchange data between Servers. This is used to exchange data between IEDs and in some cases to local RTUs for automation, as it is faster than MMS.
